The convention’s overall theme is “Honoring the Great American Story,” which is exactly what the President must do as he faces ever-mounting re-election headwinds. Tonight’s special theme is “Land of Promise.” Speakers include evangelist Franklin Graham, former NYC mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida, and Donald Trump, himself. The events are a virtual hybrid and take place in North Carolina and at the White House. Using Federal resources to host political conventions is, of course, unprecedented, and perhaps, illegal.
