The convention’s overall theme is “Honoring the Great American Story,” which is exactly what the President must do as he faces ever-mounting re-election headwinds. Tonight’s special theme is “Land of Opportunity.” Speakers include Secretary of State Mike Pompeo from Isreal, Tiffany Trump, Eric Trump, Melania Trump, and Donald Trump, himself. The events are a virtual hybrid and take place online, pre-recorded, and at the White House. Using Federal resources to host political conventions is, of course, unprecedented, and perhaps, illegal. The President hopes for a home field advantage as he makes his case for a second term to American voters.
